1) Eat all the bacon

Bust out your favorite stretchy pants. Kicking off with a night tasting session on Friday and continuing with two more (afternoon and evening) on Saturday, Baconfest 2017 is shaping up to be the porkiest ever. The walkaround tasting is offering unlimited bites from some of our favorite restaurants and chefs (Bang Bang Pie Shop, Boleo, Wyler Road and many, many more), plus beer, wine and cocktails from festival drink partners. 2) Drink all the beer

Get your fill of beer and wine at the aptly named Brew & Vine at Tinley Park Convention Center. The large tasting event boasts more than 200 offerings across food, wine and beer, plus live music entertainment. 3) Do spring break at Boiler Room

Channel MTV’s ’90s spring break vibes at Boiler Room this Sunday. A party at the Logan Square bar and pizza spot comes complete with hot tub, surf-rock DJ set and beachy-themed patio. Get into the spirit with $6 Dark & Stormy cocktail specials and $5.50 slices of Hawaiian pizza with house-made ham and bacon, balsamic reduction, garlic oil and grilled pineapple. 4) Eat for a good cause

Fondo Semillas, a non-profit organization focused on improving women’s lives in Mexico, hosts a fundraising celebration to help its mission on transforming communities. Held at Pilsen’s National Museum of Mexican Art, the event will feature Mexican food, plus live music and dance by Sones de Mexico and an auction of art and products from women’s artisan co-ops. $100. 6-10 p.m. Friday, March 31 at 1852 W. 19th St., www.semillas.org.mx

5) Celebrate The Chopping Block’s 20th birthday

The Chopping Block will celebrate its two decades in Chicago with a series of special events for customers, starting this Saturday at the Lincoln Square location (and continuing April 8 in the Merchandise Mart flagship). The celebrations invite Chopping Block alumni chefs to do demos and teach hands-on classes. Guest chefs this weekend include mfk owner Sari Zernich, “The Filipino-American Kitchen” author Jennifer Aranas and River Valley Farmers Table manager/buyer Siobhan Straka. Expect a buffet of bites including truffled popcorn, bacon-wrapped dates and mushroom-thyme cheesecake, all served alongside wine and cocktail samples.
