As a retired businessman and former District 115 Lake Forest High School Board President for several years, I have maintained a continued interest in the progress of our high school. I am fortunate also to have two grandchildren currently in the high school, one graduate, and two more on the way. In all my discussions and observations, the current school board and administration get very high marks, and my daughter, son-in-law and their children are very pleased with all aspects of the high school, educationally and otherwise.

So, I was surprised and disappointed to learn that there is a group of individuals who identify themselves as the Lake Forest Citizens Committee, with an agenda with which I disagree, who oppose the election/re-election of school board candidates who have been vetted and endorsed by the Lake Forest Caucus.

We are very fortunate in Lake Forest to have a Caucus system that identifies able and qualified candidates for public positions, who view themselves as volunteers, and who are not looking to, or deserving of, having to defend themselves in a politicized election process. In this regard, I am hopeful the great majority of our citizens will again support the Caucus candidates for the District 115 Board of Education, all of whom are highly qualified to oversee our high school going forward.
