A 41-year-old Aurora man faces several drunken driving charges in connection with three crashes Sunday night on a milelong stretch of Lincolnway in North Aurora.

The driver was identified in a North Aurora police news release as Domingo Perfecto, in Kane County court records as Domingo Perfecto Velazquez and in Kane County Jail records as Domingo Perfecto Vazquez. The 41-year-old, who lives in the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue in Aurora, was charged with four counts of aggravated driving under the influence, to Kane County court records show.

The charges allege he had no driver’s license, had a blood-alcohol content of more than .08 and was in an accident involving great bodily harm, all class 4 felonies.

He was driving a dark green Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck about 9:50 p.m. south on Lincolnway, Route 31, at Oak Street when he struck a white GMC Savannah van driven by a 65-year-old man, who was not injured, North Aurora police said in a news release.

Police said he continued south on Lincolnway and near Airport Road struck a red Ford Fusion driven by a 26-year-old Aurora man, who was uninjured, police said.

The final crash occurred about a mile from the first, at the intersection of Lincolnway and Lovedale Lane, where he struck a maroon Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by a 45-year-old Elgin man, police said. While the 45-year-old was not injured, a passenger, a 32-year-old Elgin woman, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken by ambulance to Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, police said.

Police said he ran after the third crash. A passer-by chased him and persuaded him to return to the scene, police said.

Velazquez, or Vazquez, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated and released. He spent the night at the North Aurora Police Department after being placed under arrest, police said.

He is being held in the Kane County Jail with bail set at $25,000. His next court date is March 17.
