A Wheeling man faces charges after, police said, he sexually abused a former acquaintance in Lincolnshire.
Kevin Perez-Galeana, 19, was charged with criminal sexual assault — a Class 1 felony — and criminal sexual abuse — a Class 4 felony, Lincolnshire police said Monday.
Police started investigating after receiving a report Feb. 22 of criminal sexual abuse that happened Feb. 20 in the 200 block of Parkway Drive.
Lincolnshire police did not issue additional details, including how the two knew each other, because officers still are investigating the incident, Sgt. Kim Covelli said.
“At this time, we’re not releasing further information,” Covelli said.
Authorities with the Lake County Jail said Monday that Perez-Galeana remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear March 10 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan, police said.
