A man shot to death at an Altgeld Gardens neighborhood park Monday night has been identified, authorities said Wednesday.
Michael J. Lawrence-Harrington was pronounced dead at 9:25 p.m. Monday at Advocate Christ Medical Center after he was shot in the 800 block of East 132nd Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Lawrence-Harrington, who lived on Langley Avenue south of 130th Street, died from a gunshot wound to the torso, the office determined following an autopsy Tuesday.
Officers responding to a call of shots fired found the man, in his 20s, in a field on 132 nd Street. He had been shot on the left side of his chest and on the right side of his body, police said.
The address given by authorities for where Lawrence-Harrington was found shot is in Carver Park, 939 E. 132nd Street.
