The following items were taken from the Winnetka and Northfield police department reports and press releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Winnetka
Theft
*Cash was taken from a wallet left in an unattended backpack at New Trier High School on Feb. 2, according to a report. The amount of loss is $105.
Fraud
*A resident of the 1200 block of Willow Road on Feb. 17 reported that someone purchased a cell phone with a fraudulent check. The amount of loss is $1,190.
*A resident of the 700 block of Elm Street on Feb. 17 reported receiving a fraudulent request that funds be wired into an unknown account. The amount of loss is $1,020.
Drugs
*A 17-year-old male from the New Trier Township area was charged with possession of controlled substance, obstructing justice and resisting arrest in the 200 block of Sheridan Road on Feb. 18. He was also was given a municipal citation for possession of cannabis and released to a parent pending referral to juvenile court.
Northfield
DUI
*Alex Fernandez, 24, of the 100 block of East Francis Road in New Lenox, was charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license at Lagoon Drive and Mount Pleasant Drive on Feb. 13 after officers allegedly found him asleep behind the wheel.
*Jose D. Quirizumday-Tito, 37, of the 3200 block of North Richmond Street in Chicago, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage at Willow and Waukegan roads on Feb. 12.
Theft
*A package left by UPS at the front entrance of a residence in the 200 block of Thackeray Lane was stolen on Feb. 7. The amount of loss is $25.21.
Fraud
*A resident of the 00 block of East Canterbury Street on Feb. 15 reported getting two letters saying someone tried opening credit cards in their name. There is no reported loss at this time.
