Bolingbrook police are investigating a shooting Wednesday afternoon that sent one man to the hospital with minor injuries.
An unknown number of men walked along the 300 block of North Schmidt Road toward a vehicle with multiple men inside, when one person outside fired shots inside the vehicle, Bolingbrook police Lt. Anthony Columbus said.
“The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene, taking the victim to a nearby hospital,” according to a police statement. “The victim is currently uncooperative.”
Police responded to a report of gunshots at 3:44 p.m., finding no one involved at the scene. After they received a report of a gunshot victim at the hospital, they learned the adult male victim was being treated for minor injuries and was released within a couple hours.
The police have no description of the person who fired the shots, however the incident does not appear to be random, Columbus said.
