Thousands of dollars worth of copper tubing was stolen from a house on Aurora’s Near East Side sometime over the past five months, according to police.

Sometime between 3 p.m. Sept. 8 and 1:25 p.m. Saturday , all the copper tubing in the basement and upper bathroom, along with an air conditioning line, was stolen from a vacant home on the 0-99 block of Bluff Street, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said in an email.

The loss estimate is about $3,850, Ferrelli said.

A worker of the company that owns the home discovered the burglary, Ferrelli said.

Police said they have no suspects and ask anyone with information to call Aurora police investigators at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests.
