An Aurora man has been sentenced to five years in state prison for dealing cocaine.

James F. Olden, 56, of the 800 block of Fordham Avenue, was convicted of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and sentenced by Kendall County Judge Timothy J. McCann pursuant to a negotiated plea agreement, according to a news release Monday from Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis.

Records show that when Olden pleaded guilty to a single count of delivery of between 1 and 15 grams of cocaine, a Class X felony, a related possession charge was dropped.

Olden was charged in 2015 with delivering cocaine to someone working with the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team in September 2014, according to the state’s attorney’s office. At the time, the charges were for a greater amount of cocaine than he was ultimately convicted of delivering.

After completing his five-year sentence with the Illinois Department of Corrections, Olden will be subject to mandatory supervised release for two years, according to the state’s attorney’s office. He is receiving credit for 70 days already served, records show.

Olden was previously convicted in 2009 of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, Weis said in the news release.

Olden was also convicted of delivery of a controlled substance in 1992, according to Kane County court records.
