A June trial has been scheduled for Scott Turyna, the former St. Charles man accused of shooting at his wife during a May 2016 incident in their neighborhood.
Turyna, who turns 66 on Tuesday, has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence. Free on $1 million bail, he is living in Elburn.

Kane County Judge D.J. Tegeler set the trial to begin June 5, with a status hearing for pretrial matters in April, according to court records.
The indictment against Turyna alleges he attacked his wife of 26 years after they ate dinner inside their home on the evening of May 3. She wrote in a protective order petition that Turyna said, “How about I beat you and kill you?” before he held her down and struck her, causing broken bones and a concussion. She was able to flee the home, but Turyna followed her outside, prosecutors allege, and fired at least five shots in her direction before he was subdued by a passer-by until police arrived in response to a call of gunfire near Hunt Club Drive and Steeplechase Road.
A subsequent search of the Turyna home turned up 13 handguns, eight shotguns, four rifles and approximately 3,000 rounds of mixed ammunition, court documents state.
Turyna’s wife filed for divorce a week after the attack. That case is pending, court records show.
