A Volo man was arrested Saturday after allegedly waving a knife and saying “come and get me” to Lake County sheriff’s deputies responding to a domestic dispute call.
Arthur A. Cal, 35, of Volo, was charged with three felony counts of aggravated assault, and was being held in Lake County jail Sunday in lieu of $20,000 bail, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call at 5:19 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Terra Firma Lane in Volo, for a domestic disturbance. When deputies arrived, they found Cal apparently intoxicated and armed with a knife, according to authorities.
When deputies began communicating with the suspect, he began waving the knife and taunting them, according to Sgt. Christopher Covelli.
Cal then retreated to a different area of the home, and into a room where he slammed the door and attempted to block officers from gaining entry, Covelli said.
When deputies got in, Cal refused to put the knife down and a Taser was deployed, Covelli said.
Deputies were able to successfully apprehend Cal without injury to him or sheriff’s deputies, according to the release.
Cal is scheduled to appear in Lake County bond court Tuesday.
