A 2008 Chevrolet Impala was stolen from an Aurora driveway early Wednesday morning and found crashed and abandoned a block away, Aurora police said.
According to Aurora police, a woman reported that she was feeling ill and was going to drive herself to the hospital around 1 a.m., but started her vehicle and left it unattended in the driveway to warm up.
She returned to her home to rest and noticed the vehicle missing a short while later when she went to check on it.
The vehicle was found about a block away, crashed head-on into a ComEd utility pole, police said.
A witness who lived near the scene of the crash reported hearing a loud noise around 1:13 a.m. and then looking outside to see four people dressed in dark clothing run away from the crashed Impala.
