Cambridge Lakes Charter School in Pingree Grove has announced they will be celebrating the annual National School Choice Week, Jan. 22 to 28.

“We are celebrating in a number of ways,” said Julie Skaggs, CLCS principal of lower schools. “Each day will have a different theme that students can dress up for. They will also take part in writing activities to highlight the great things going on at CLCS. During our traditional dance party on Friday, students will be learning the official 2017 National School Choice Week dance.”

A video of the dance steps can be viewed at: https://schoolchoiceweek.com

“On Monday, Jan. 23, we will be holding an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.,” Skaggs said. “All classrooms will be open for current and potential families to view. There will be an art show and live music. We may even have a surprise dance performance by the staff.”

The goal of National School Choice Week, according to its website, “is to raise public awareness of all types of educational options for children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, online learning, private schools and home schooling.”
