An Aurora man has been charged with aggravated assault after a shooting on the city’s Far East Side.

Charges of aggravated assault using a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct have been filed in DuPage County against Antoneio D. Clash-Johnson, 25, of the 3800 block of Gabrielle Lane, according to online court records. Aurora police arrested Clash-Johnson Tuesday near East New York Street and North Commons Drive, according to police booking reports.

At 9:35 p.m. Monday, police responded to an apartment complex on the 3800 block of Gabrielle Lane for calls of shots fired, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli previously said in an email.

Police located several people and a man who had apparently engaged in an argument with each other, Ferrelli said.

“We believe it was during that argument that someone fired at least one gunshot,” Ferrelli said.

Nobody and nothing was hit, but police did find evidence of a shooting, Ferrelli said. During interviews with police, the people who appeared to have been involved gave conflicting stories, Ferrelli said.

Clash-Johnson was charged in July with possession of a stolen motor vehicle on the 300 block of North Eola Road. He is next scheduled to appear in court for that at 9:05 a.m. Jan. 20 in Courtroom 4001 at the DuPage County courthouse in Wheaton. For the aggravated assault charge, he is scheduled to appear at 8:35 a.m. that day in courtroom 4003.
