Aurora police are investigating a shooting Monday night on the city’s Far East Side.

At 9:35 p.m. Monday, police responded to an apartment complex on the 3800 block of Gabrielle Lane for calls of shots fired, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said in an email.

Police located several people and a man who had apparently engaged in an argument with each other, Ferrelli said.

“We believe it was during that argument that someone fired at least one gunshot,” Ferrelli said.

Nobody and nothing was hit, but police did find evidence of a shooting, Ferrelli said. During interviews with police, the people who appeared to have been involved gave conflicting stories, Ferrelli said.

No charges have been filed, but the investigation remains open and police are processing evidence, Ferrelli said.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Aurora police investigators at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests.

People also can submit tips through the Aurora Police Department’s free My PD mobile app.
