A fire seriously damaged a home in Ingleside Friday morning, according to authorities.
A 911 call was received at 11:54 a.m. reporting a fire on the 25800 block of Highpoint Avenue in Ingleside, according to Sgt. Christopher Covelli of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Covelli said no one was home at the time of the fire and that the Fox Lake Fire Department was the lead response agency, while the sheriff’s office dispatched an investigator to the scene.
Firefighters faced brutally cold conditions as they fought the blaze, and because the area did not have hydrants, water was shuttled in by fire department tanker trucks, according to an onlooker at the scene.
As of late Friday afternoon, Covelli said he had no information on the extent of the damage, and attempts to reach Fox Lake Fire Department officials for comment were unsuccessful.
