A 22-year-old woman was arrested Dec. 31 and charged with battery, a local ordinance violation, for allegedly punching a 25-year-old woman several times, causing her to sustain minor bruises, according to police reports.
At 12:15 a.m. Saturday, an Aurora police officer was sitting in a squad car in front of The Foundry, 85 Executive Drive near Fox Valley Mall, when security went out to tell the officer there was a fight inside, according to police reports.
As the officer was walking into The Foundry, the 22-year-old woman was on her way out, and security personnel advised the officer the woman had been involved in the fight. When the officer asked the woman what was going on, she said she had been walking when an unknown woman bumped into her and that was it, according to police reports.
Police found the other woman, whose statement was redacted from police reports.
A bar manager who saw the fight told police she observed the 22-year-old woman by the bathrooms pushing the 25-year-old woman. At first the manager thought the women were “just messing around with each other,” but as the older woman attempted to walk away, the 22-year-old allegedly grabbed the other woman by the hair and punched her in the face several times, according to police reports.
The 25-year-old woman fell to the ground, where the 22-year-old is accused of continuing to hit and kick her until security broke up the fight, according to police reports.
Aurora police arrested the 22-year-old woman, who is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Jan. 26 in Aurora branch court, according to police reports.
