A man said he was having trouble finding his car keys while leaving a New Year’s Eve party on the 700 block of Fourth Avenue in Aurora at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, police said.
He and his brother were outside looking for the keys when they saw the man’s 2010 white Chevrolet Malibu being stolen from the driveway, according to police reports.
They said they saw the car driving off at a high rate of speed west on Fourth Avenue, according to police.
The car’s owner told police he didn’t think anyone at the party was involved, as it was a small family get-together and everyone else was still at the party. He said he might have dropped his keys outside on the way into the party, according to police reports.
