The town of Munster said lane closures will occur through Saturday at the intersection of Calumet Avenue and 45th Street for utility work relocation.

From 9 a.m. Thursday through the end of the day Saturday, Calumet will be closed immediately north of 45th at the Marathon gas station. Traffic on northbound Calumet will be allowed to proceed eastbound and westbound onto 45th and follow posted detours.

However, traffic southbound on Calumet, north of the intersection, will have to take the posted detour onto Fran-Lin Parkway. Traffic will not be able to directly turn east or west onto 45th from Calumet, said Town Manager Dustin Anderson.

Truck traffic southbound on Calumet, north of the road closure, will be diverted eastbound onto Ridge Road to Indianapolis Boulevard in Highland, then westbound on U.S. 30 and back to Calumet Avenue.

For more information on alternate routes, visit the town’s website, www.munster.org.
