The Hampshire village board this month unanimously approved a request by the Hampshire Fire Protection District for $3,800 in impact fees for replacing 800 feet of large diameter supply hose.

“After testing our hose this year, we had a large number of failures and do not have the money in our budget to replace it,” said Hampshire Fire Chief Bill Robinson in a letter to the village board. “This hose is used to supply our apparatus from a hydrant. We are presently operating without the optimal amount we would like to have on each piece of apparatus.”
