Bloody mary, anyone?

Shopping on Michigan Avenue? Head to the Streeterville location of Beatrix for its new bloody mary bar before trudging back into the cold. Pick your juice, then your poison (vodka, gin, whiskey, tequila or beer), then go crazy with the mix-ins, which include kung pao Brussels sprouts and potato salad deviled eggs. $14. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at Beatrix Streeterville, 671 N. St. Clair St., 312-642-0001, www.beatrix.com

4) Don you now your gay apparel

Long-running Christmas television special “Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer” is projected on several walls at Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club.

Lakeview’s Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club is getting in on the ugly holiday sweater party action. At the spot’s Divalicious brunch, enjoy seasonal martinis, dishes from chilaquiles to rice crispy French toast and, if you choose, bottomless brunch drinks for $15, all to the backdrop of holiday music and films. Dress in your most gaudy Christmas sweater, and you can win a $100 cash prize. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Kit Kat Lounge, 3700 N. Halsted St., 773-525-1111, www.kitkatchicago.com

Free to attend, no registration required. 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Newberry Library, 60 W. Walton St., 312-943-9090, www.newberry.org.
