A handgun was reported stolen after a residential burglary early Monday morning in Yorkville, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s Office reports.

A 54-year-old man reported the burglary to his home on the 1100 block of Fox Road at about 3:30 a.m.. Monday. The man said a firearm had been taken during the burglary, according to sheriff’s office reports.

There are no suspects, according to the sheriff’s office.

The handgun was the only item reported stolen in the burglary, said Kendall County Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Mike Mrozek. The man did not say if the handgun was loaded nor did he report the value of the handgun, Mrozek said.

“All indications were that the handgun was legally owned,” Mrozek said.

Mrozek did not answer whether there were any signs of forced entry to the home and said no other information will be released at this time, as the incident is an open investigation.
