Going Rogue
What’s up: The premiere for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” happened over the weekend and people loved it. As if you needed any more reason to be excited.
Why you care: “Rogue One” is the first in the “Star Wars” anthology series—movies within the franchise that aren’t directly related to the original Skywalker storyline—so there was a lot riding on it not absolutely sucking. Good news, though, because it apparently doesn’t suck.
Soundbite: “It took me a while to get out from under my own ideas of what #RogueOne could be. But it’s the Star Wars movie you never knew you wanted,” said Los Angeles Times film editor Marc Bernardin on Twitter.

Get your ‘Globes’ on
What’s up: The Golden Globes, AKA the less cool Oscars, released their list of nominees for the 2017 awards, with “La La Land” and “The People vs. OJ Simpson” leading the pack. Shocker.

Why you care: Chicago has a lot to be proud of when it comes to sports … if you don’t care about football. This is your chance to give credit where credit is due to athletes that make us weep with joy. Sorry, Cutler.
