A 21-year-old Aurora man told police he was shot at walking toward his house on the city’s East Side.

The man said a male suspect fired at him multiple times as he was walking toward his home on the 800 block of Gates Street, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said in an email Tuesday.

The shooter was on foot, then walked to a white vehicle similar to a PT Cruiser that was last seen northbound on Gates Street, Ferrelli said. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds, wearing all dark clothing, Ferrelli said.

Nothing was hit during the shooting, Ferrelli said. Police believe it was possibly gang motivated, Ferrelli said. Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Aurora police investigators at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests.
