Two Aurora men face felony charges in connection with a residential burglary in Montgomery nearly a year ago.

Jose Arzate, 19, and Alfonso Nino, 21, are each charged with single counts of residential burglary, a class 1 felony, for the Dec. 21 break-in and theft at a home on the 200 block of Fernwood Road, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

In December, two people entered the residence without authority and removed some property, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Detectives continued to investigate, and Oct. 26, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Nino and took him into custody, according to the news release. He remains at the Kendall County Jail, with bail set at $50,000.

The state’s attorney also approved the charge against Arzate, who turned himself in Monday, according to the sheriff’s office. He is also in the county jail with bail set at $50,000.

Nino was found guilty in 2014 in Kane County of criminal damage to government property and sentenced to 102 days in county jail plus 30 months conditional discharge, records show.

He pleaded guilty this June in Kane County to possession of between 2.5 and 10 grams of marijuana and was sentenced to 12 months of conditional discharge, records show.
