Two people were shot at outside their residence on Aurora’s East Side Sunday afternoon, according to police.

A 16-year-old boy and 20-year-old man were fired upon at about 5:40 p.m. Sunday as they stood outside the home on the 200 block of Beach Street, police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said in an email.

The two were uncooperative and would only say a vehicle of unknown make and model drove by and opened fire, Ferrelli said.

Bullets struck the house twice, but no injuries were reported, Ferrelli said.

The shooting was “possibly gang motivated,” Ferrelli said.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Aurora police investigators at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests.

People also can submit tips through the Aurora Police Department’s free My PD mobile app.
