Aurora police Friday arrested a man wanted on an attempted murder charge out of Bolingbrook, police said Monday.
Aurora police took Marquis Shaquiel Davis, 22, into custody at 11:10 p.m. Friday at his home on the 1200 block of East Galena Boulevard, according to information from police reports and spokesman Dan Ferrelli.
At about 9:46 p.m. Oct. 31, Bolingbrook police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Monroe Road in Bolingbrook for a report of a stolen vehicle, Bolingbrook Police Lt. Anthony Columbus said in an email. On their way to the scene, officers received additional information that a home invasion had occurred at the location and that several people inside had been stabbed, Columbus said.
Responding officers found three people inside the home had been stabbed, Columbus said. An investigation showed the people had been inside when they were attacked, Columbus said.
The offenders drove off in one of the victim’s cars, a 2013 Chevrolet, Columbus said. Bolingbrook police later recovered the car.
The three who were stabbed were transported to an undisclosed local hospital for medical assistance, Columbus said.
Police Nov. 3 obtained a warrant for Davis’ arrest for attempted murder, home invasion and residential burglary in connection with the incident. After his arrest Friday, Davis was transferred to the Bolingbrook Police Department, then to the Will County jail, where his bail is set at $1 million.
Davis is next scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Nov. 28 in Room 405 at the Will County courthouse in Joliet for a preliminary hearing.
Davis was currently on parole for aggravated robbery with a firearm, aggravated robbery and burglary, Columbus said. He is also associated with an address on the 500 block of Jill Lane in Bolingbrook, Columbus said.
Columbus did not say if it’s known why the particular people were targeted, whether police had identified any other suspects or how many total offenders were suspected in the case. “Certain aspects of the incident” are still under investigation and no further information is currently available, he said.
Davis was admitted to prison in December 2013 and paroled April 12, 2016, according to prison records. He had been convicted of felony aggravated robbery with a firearm and felony aggravated robbery in 2013 in Will County and of a felony burglary that took place in 2011 in DuPage County, records show.
