Buffalo Grove police are working to identify a man who allegedly has been driving in the village and exposing himself to teenagers, police said.

Police first received a report Oct. 5, describing a man driving an Infiniti sedan who pulled up to two, 13-year-old girls near Arlington Heights Road and Happfield Drive. The man stopped, showed his naked torso and then fled the area, Buffalo Grove police said.

Police received a similar report Nov. 1 along Arlington Heights Road, just south of Lake Cook Road.

While a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl were stopped near the intersection, a man matching the description of the Oct. 5 report pulled up alongside the teenagers and started waving at them before exposing his genitalia, Buffalo Grove police said.

Before leaving the area, the two girls took a photo of the man, which they sent to the police. But they were not able to write down the license plate number to the car, police said.

Buffalo Grove outreach officer Meghan Hansen said police started a special patrol for the area after the first incident was reported.

Officers are working to identify one man responsible for both incidents since the physical descriptions, time and locations of the incidents are similar, Hansen said. But officers remain open to the idea that two separate people could be responsible, she said.

“We have also been in contact with other local departments, sharing our information, in hopes another agency may have possible suspect information,” Hansen said.
