Ella’s Friends slate first art auction at Hampshire library

Ella’s Friends, the support group for Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library, 109 South State Street in Hampshire, will hold its first art auction.

Beginning Monday, silent auction items on display at the library will include quilts, pottery and paintings donated by local artists. Bids will be accepted at the front desk until 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 17. Proceeds will provide funds to support programs and purchase materials that are not part of the regular library budget.

Winning bidders will be announced on Nov. 17 after the free concert by bassist and composer Matt Ulery and the Loom Trio. The performance, which is part of the Ella Johnson Library Concert Series, begins at 7:30 p.m.
