As she played with her 9-month-old daughter Ellie, Carrie Kujoth, 35, of Oak Park, answered a few questions for the Oak Leaves.

Q: What’s been most surprising about parenthood?

A: Probably sounds bad, but how much time you spend washing bottles!

Q: What’s your occupation?

A: I’m a nurse, in asthma and allergy.

Q: Last book you read?

A: “What Alice Forgot,” by Liane Moriarty.

Q: Favorite place to eat around town?

A: We don’t eat out as much as we used to. I really like Peterson’s Ice Cream shop.

Q: Pets?

A: A dog named Archie. She’s a mix, beagle-terrier.

Q: Where did you grow up? Do you miss it?

A: Geneseo, Ill., by the Quad Cities. It’s a small town, so it’s a little different. I don’t know if “miss it” is the right word.

Q: Hidden gem of Oak Park or River Forest?

A: I’m kind of new to Oak Park. I like the book store, The Book Table. I have a Kindle now, so I’m trying to read a bit more during my commute.

Q: Favorite aspect of the holidays?

A: It’s not holiday-related, but I really, really like winter clothing: hats, gloves, scarves. … I think it will be fun [to celebrate holidays with Ellie]. We’ll see what it’s like when she sees her first snow.
