A man was found dead Sept. 30 in car parked in a parking lot of a Franklin Park shopping center. Police said “there were no signs of foul play at the scene.”
Fire and police were called to the parking lot of a Jewel on the 10000 block of Grand Avenue during the early evening hours of Sept. 30, police said. Once on the scene, a 51-year-old deceased man was found in a sitting position inside a vehicle, police said.
“There were no signs of foul play at the scene; the deceased was found in the passenger side front seat with the seat in the reclined position,” said Michael Witz, Franklin Park’s director of police.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Becky Schlikerman, a spokesperson for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, said the man found in the vehicle was from Chicago. She said he had been pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30, and that the “cause and manner of death was still pending further studies.”
