Winnetka
Deceptive practice
*A resident of the 00 block of Brier Street reported on Sept. 26 that various department store credit card accounts had been opened in their name without their permission. There is no reported loss at this time.
*A resident of the 1200 block of Ash Street on Sept. 27 reported that several unauthorized purchases were made on their Visa credit card. The amount of loss is $2,500.
*A resident of the 1000 block of Pine Street reported on Sept. 27 that their personal identifiers were used to open an Amazon Rewards Visa credit card. There is no reported loss at this time.

Theft
*Two ladders and a stretch plank were taken from behind a residence in the 100 block of Birch Street, according to a Sept. 29 report. The amount of loss is $1,200.
Northfield
Deceptive practice
*A resident of the 300 block of Wagner Road reported on Sept. 30 that her credit card was used to make illegal purchases. The amount of loss is $522.62.
*A resident of the 200 block of Dickens Road reported on Sept. 26 that she received a notice saying she owed $34,000 in taxes after someone used her personal information to illegally file a tax return. The IRS told her to file a report with the police. There is no reported loss.
*A resident of the 100 block of Latrobe Avenue on Sept. 30 reported that she received in the mail a credit card in her former name that she had not applied for. Police marked it as suspicious. There is no reported loss at this time.
Theft
*A resident of the 1600 block of Orchard Lane on Sept. 27 reported that on Sept. 26, the apple and pear trees in her backyard were laden with fruit but that it was all gone on Sept. 27. She does not know who took the fruit. The amount of loss is $200.
