Glen Ellyn police are investigating a recent series of overnight home burglaries that occurred while residents were often asleep in their houses.
Police said the burglaries have primarily been concentrated on the north side of the village, along the Geneva Road corridor between Main Street and Western Avenue.
Police said many of the houses were not locked at night, which allowed the burglars access to the home.
The burglars primarily removed small electronic devices from the homes, police said.
Cars left unlocked have also been entered, police said.
Police recently made an arrest related to one alleged car burglary. Jonathan J. Hovde, 30, of the 900 block of Waverly Road, was charged with vehicle burglary on Sept. 21, police said.
