The garden center this month hosted the 100th birthday celebration for Sun City Huntley resident Dorothy Linnemann, the grandmother of Dan Linnemann. Dan and his wife, Cheryl, are the owners of the garden center. Over 60 people attended the birthday bash that included music performed on a concertina and accordion, Dorothy’s favorite instruments. The birthday cake was decorated like a quilt. During her 100 years, Dorothy said she has made 900 handmade quilts.
