Glen Ellyn police and the FBI are searching for man who robbed a US Bank on Friday afternoon and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police said the man entered the bank at 736 Roosevelt Road about 1:30 p.m. and gave the teller a message that demanded money.
There was no report the man was armed, said Bill Holmer, Glen Ellyn’s assistant chief of police. The man reportedly fled on foot “eastbound from the bank.”
In an email, Garrett Croon, spokesman for the Chicago office of the FBI, said the incident was a “non-takeover” robbery, meaning the robber’s actions did not call widespread attention to himself.
The suspect was described as a black, about 35 years old and about 5-foot-8. He was wearing a white T-shirt, a green coat and a black hat.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the police department at 630-469-1187 or the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 312-421-6700.
