Police in Elmwood Park are investigating reports of shots fired that took place early Thursday in the 2200 block of north 73rd Avenue.
Elmwood Park Police Chief Frank Fagiano said in an email that officers responded at about 2 a.m. Thursday to a report of gunshots in the area.
“Upon arrival, the responding officers confirmed no one was injured in the incident,” Fagiano said in the email.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office says no unnatural deaths were reported out of Elmwood Park over the past two days.
According to police, the officers who responded to the initial call are working with Elmwood Park detectives and evidence technicians to canvass the area, obtain witness statements and collect evidence.
