Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I’ve seen Divino Niño a couple times and every show I’ve been lucky enough to catch them, I find their relaxing, sometimes psychedelic indie rock tunes staying with me for days after the show, especially songs off their most recent album “The Shady Sexfornia Tapes.” On Friday, Sept. 16, they’ll be opening for an equally vibes-heavy band called Mild High Club at Empty Bottle (be sure to leave Riot Fest early and get tickets here).

<In honor of that show, they've covered Hurricane Smith's "Don't Let It Die" and shared the results exclusively with RedEye below. If that song sounds like it should be a John Lennon song, it's because Smith wrote the song for Lennon and was the recording engineer for the Beatles for their albums until they released "Rubber Soul" in 1965. But that said, Divino Niño is wonderfully lush and fully-realized—a refreshing take on an underappreciated gem.
