Authorities were searching Thursday for a tall man who robbed a BMO Harris bank branch in Midlothian.

The man fled on foot northbound toward Karlov Avenue after robbing the bank at 4050 147th St., just after noon Thursday, according to the FBI.

Midlothian police helped secure the scene before the FBI arrived, Police Chief Harold Kaufman said.

“We were originally called,” Kaufman said, adding that police also helped FBI agents search for the suspect.

The assailant is described as a 6-foot-5 black man, who was wearing a red, white and blue flannel shirt with a white T-shirt and dark pants.
