Indiana-raised but now Chicago-based singer Mike Golden (who performs as Golden) is gearing up to make a splash in 2016 with his upcoming project “Just Be A Better Person.” After spending some time listening to a pre-release version, there’s no doubt in my mind he will do exactly that once it finally drops.
As a first official taste of the new album, RedEye’s premiering “Rain Dance,” which, out of a full-length loaded with danceable pop songs, might just be the most infectious. It features Donnie Trumpet, who of course kills it, and reprises a long-running collaboration between the two musicians that culminated in last year’s “Surf” highlight “Go.” Check it out below and be sure to not miss Golden’s album release show at Double Door, Friday, Aug. 26, with Kelechi and Chicago’s Ric Wilson.
Buy tickets to the Double Door show here and stay tuned for a feature on Golden next week at RedEye.
