
The new Speedway gasoline station/convenience store’s grand opening Saturday at 110 Arrowhead Drive in Hampshire featured giveaway goody bags, free donuts, balloons and a drawing for gift cards and merchandise.
“It’s wonderful to have this national name-brand company in our expanded truck-stop area in Hampshire,” said Village President Jeffrey Magnussen. “I wish them the best.”
“Another national company is showing confidence in Hampshire’s growth,” said Trustee George Brust.
“It’s great that Speedway came in and put up this wonderful facility,” said Trustee Michael Armato. “I hope it will being more business into Hampshire.”
The Speedway has 16 gasoline pumps and diesel lanes for trucks, while its cafe menu includes frappes, submarine sandwiches, smoothies, pizza, breakfast, paninis and lattes.
“It’s fun to see exciting things happening in Hampshire,” said Loree Hendry, Hampshire Area Chamber of Commerce executive director. “The Hampshire chamber members have been so supportive of new businesses.”
