The following items were taken from the official reports and press releases of the Winnetka and Northfield police departments. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Winnetka
Fleeing police
*Daniel M. Mendoza, 22, of the 500 block of Biester Drive in Belvidere, Ill., was charged at the Evanston police station on August 9 for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. Mendoza was also cited for speeding, improper lane usage, disobeying a no passing zone and failure to yield to an authorized emergency vehicle. The charges follow an investigation into a July 29 incident.
Fraud
*A resident of the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue on August 9 reported that someone used their identification information to open a ComEd account. The amount of loss is $635.62.
*A resident of the 900 block of Private Road on August 12 reported that their personal identifiers were used to file a federal income tax return, and were used in attempts to open department store credit cards. There is no reported loss at this time.
*A resident of the 800 block of Oak Street on August 10 reported that someone used their personal identifiers to open Chevron and Texaco credit card accounts. The amount of loss is $363.20.
Drugs
*Colin T. Meyer, 28, of the 700 block of S. Candota Avenue in Mount Prospect, was charged at Hibbard and Willow roads on August 11 for possession of a controlled substance.
DUI
*Betty Laboy, 58, of the 500 block of Broadview Avenue in Highland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in the 1100 block of Willow Road on August 14. Laboy was also cited for improper lane usage, speeding and no rear registration plate light.
Theft
*Two unsecured vehicles parked in a driveway in the 600 block of Elder Lane were entered, according to an August 13 report, and a purse, a Louis Vuitton wallet containing credit cards, and two pairs of designer sunglasses were taken. The amount of loss is $1,950.
*An unsecured vehicle was taken from a driveway in the 600 block of Elder Lane, according to an August 13 report, and an iPad, baseball tickets, brief case, and keys in the vehicle were also taken. The amount of loss is more than $10,000.
*An unsecured vehicle was taken from a driveway in the 900 block of Euclid Avenue, according to an August 13 report. A wallet containing two credit cards and the vehicle keys were also taken, the report said. The amount of loss is more than $10,000.

*Someone entered an unsecured vehicle in the 700 block of Prospect Avenue and took items of clothing, according to an August 14 report. The amount of loss is $150.
Northfield
Theft
*A leaf blower and a gas trimmer were taken from a box trailer parked in the 2300 block of Clover Lane on August 11, according to a report. The amount of loss is $850.
*A resident of the 200 block of Sunset Drive on August 12 reported that a $100 gift card was taken from their residence, according to police reports.
*A resident of the 500 block of Summerset Lane reported on August 14 that a plant was taken from their garden. The amount of loss is $25.
