Deka Lash has a vision for the Chicago area.

The franchiser of eyelash-extension studios plans to open six salons here over the next two years, with the first expected to open by year-end in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Deka rivals also have been batting their eyes at the Chicago market. About a week ago, Amazing Lash opened its third Chicagoland location.

Deka also plans to open studios in Chicago’s Old Town, West Loop and Lakeview neighborhoods in 2017.

The Deka service involves applying individual lashes made of mink in a process that takes 60 to 90 minutes and lasts three to four weeks, said Scott Hatter, director of construction and real estate for the McMurray, Pa.-based company.

The enhancement to the peepers doesn’t come cheap. The initial application costs about $159, and the regular fill, typically done within three weeks, costs $49.

Deka founder Jennifer Blair said negotiations for the Lincoln Park site near Halsted Street and Armitage Avenue are in the final stages.

Deka currently has four locations in Pennsylvania, according to its website. Besides Illinois, the chain also plans to open stores in California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Texas.

The franchisee who will develop Deka studios in Chicago, Las Vegas and Dallas is PWS Enterprises, which will open 25 Deka salons over the next five years, according to a news release Monday.
