Four people, including a 17-year-old girl, were wounded in a shooting Tuesday evening in north suburban Evanston, authorities said.
Just after 10 p.m., Evanston police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Foster Street and Jackson Avenue on a report of a shooting, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.
Witness told police that several people were standing in the area when someone fired gunshots at the group and fled north, the release said.
A 24-year-old man was shot in the head. A 17-year-old girl was shot two times in the arm and once in the leg. A 19-year-old woman was struck in the ankle, and she managed to get to the hospital on her own before police arrived. All three are Evanston residents, according to the release.
A fourth victim was a 32-year-old man, of Skokie, who was shot in the hand. He went to the 800 block of Clark Street, where he reported the shooting.

All four victims are being treated at Evanston NorthShore Hospital, and their injuries are considered non-life-threatening, according to the release.
No one was immediately in custody as a result of the shooting, and no description of a suspect was available. Police are still investigating.
