Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Do you feel that? That’s the feeling of not being exhausted from festival season. With Pitchfork, Wicker Park Fest and Lollapalooza all in our rearview, and pennies saved from not drinking $9 beer at Lolla, maybe it’s time to start going back to shows. Thankfully, RedEye is here to help by reviving our weekly roundup of the best concerts you should see. We’re focusing on mostly local shows, but you’ll find something to love no matter what your musical stripes are.

*** = Josh Terry’s must-see show of the week.

Tuesday, Aug. 9

Colin Stetson, Sarah Neufeld, Health&Beauty

Constellation

3111 N. Western Ave.

An incredibly solid bill front to back, this night of great music kicks off with Chicago band Health&Beauty—you should know them for their excellent new rock album “No Scare.” Also performing are headliners saxophonist Colin Stetson and violinist and songwriter Sarah Neufeld, who will be duetting gorgeous original compositions from their most recent LP, “Never were the way she was.” Don’t mind the Western Ave. construction, which has completely destroyed Constellation’s sidewalk, because the venue is still open and has a convenient back entrance.

Tickets: $15 at the door, 18+

Dowsing, Jank, Boy Rex, Vivian K

Downstairs @ Subterranean

2011 W. North Ave. 773-278-6600

Chicago’s Dowsing released their best record to date with the anthemic “Okay,” which, not to get all “hacky music writer guy,” but it was so much better than its title suggested. Jokes aside, there’s a reason this show sold out, because the support is absolutely stacked, especially with Philadelphia’s Jank. The trio’s just off the heels of their most recent EP, “Versace Summer,” which fulfills the off-kilter charm of their debut full-length, “Awkward Pop Songs.”

Tickets: Sold out.

Wednesday, Aug. 10

Hiatus Kaiyote

Park West

322 W. Armitage Ave. 773-929-5959

Hiatus Kaiyote has had a solid year so far: Anderson .Paak sampled their song “Molasses” on his “Malibu” highlight “Without You,” and they also killed it at Lollapalooza. While they were just here at Grant Park, you can catch what must be a welcome radius-clause exemption at Park West.

Tickets: $25 at jamusa.com, 18+

Friday, Aug. 12, and Saturday, Aug. 13

***The Orwells, Post Animal, The Symposium, Joe Bordenaro and the Late Bloomers

1st Ward at Chop Shop

2033 W. North Ave. 773-537-4440

The Orwells are going to tease some of their new album, which is due out in early 2017, at this event they’re calling “Midwest Shitfest”—which, you have to admit, has a nice ring to it. The Chicago garage rockers recorded the new album at legendary engineer Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio Studios with producer Jim Abbiss, and it’s sure to be a ripper. Plus, there are three excellent local acts opening: Post Animal, which features Joe Keery, the actor who plays Steve on “Stranger Things”, as well as The Symposium and Joe Bordenaro and the Late Bloomers.

Tickets: $20 at 1stWardEvents.com, all ages on Friday, 21+ on Saturday

Saturday, Aug. 13

The Blisters, Hue

Constellation

3111 N. Western Ave.

Chicago’s The Blisters have been working on their new album, “Cured,” which is due out Friday, for some time now. Judging by their latest single, “Comedown,” it looks like that hard work is going to pay off, because that song might be the long-running rock band’s best yet. Saturday will serve as a record release and a celebration of a band that’s been around longer than its members’ ages suggest.

Tickets: $10 at Constellation-Chicago.com, 18+
