Two men were killed and at least four other people, including a 16-year-old boy, have been wounded in separate shootings across the city since Sunday evening.
The latest fatal shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. Monday in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood, police said.
A 25-year-old man was driving a black SUV with three female passengers inside when he stopped at a red light in the 1100 block of North Western Avenue, police said. A dark-colored sedan pulled alongside and someone inside fired shots.
The man, identified as William Villa of the 2400 block of South Drake Avenue, was hit in the head and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:54 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and police. No one else was wounded, police said.
After the shooting, three women sat at a bus shelter near the intersection of Western and Division Street, which police officers blocked off. One woman covered her face with her hands and started crying loudly.

A black SUV the man drove stood near the traffic pole it hit after the shooting. Glass and at least three shell casings lay scattered in the middle of the intersection.
About the same time but on the West Side, a man was shot to death in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said. Officers discovered the man lying on the sidewalk in the 3200 block of West Walnut Street with gunshot wounds to his head and back after getting a call about a person shot in the area. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Lee Martin, 43, of the 6500 block of South Loomis Boulevard. Police said he was in his 30s before his identity had been established. No other information was available about the shooting.

Most recently, about 4:15 a.m., a 34-year-old man walked into Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot in the Little Village neighborhood on the West Side, police said.
The man told police he was standing outside at a party in the 3800 block of South Homan Avenue when an unknown male attacker walked up and shot him in the right hip. The gunman then ran away. Police initially said the man is 26. He was listed in good condition at the hospital.
About 1 a.m., a 20-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, police said.
The man was waking on the sidewalk in the 4000 block of West Grenshaw Street when he heard gunshots and realized he was struck. He was shot in the left arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized.
About 11:10 p.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest side, police said.
The man was inside his vehicle, stopped at a red light, in the 4500 block of South Pulaski Road when a male attacker in a dark-colored SUV pulled alongside him and fired shots, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. His condition stabilized, police said.
The 16-year-old boy was shot about 9:05 p.m. in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
He was outside on the sidewalk with a group of people in the 5600 block of South King Drive when a male attacker with a backpack walked up and fired shots, according to police. The boy was hit in the back, and an ambulance took him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with a collapsed lung, police said.
Sunday evening, police officers blocked off about half a block of King Drive where the shooting happened south of 56th Street. A couple of shell casings and a shot-up car were inside the crime scene, police said.
No one was immediately in custody in the shootings.
