A train passing through Elmwood Park was involved in a crash with a vehicle last week, officials said.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. Aug. 4, according to Elmwood Park Police Chief Frank Fagiano. Tom Miller, a Metra spokesperson, said the crash involved a freight train that struck an unoccupied vehicle. No one was hurt, but the incident delayed rail traffic in the area that night.

The village’s police department performed traffic control for the crash, but officials could provide no further information regarding the incident.
