Chicago rapper Vic Mensa was reportedly detained by police and accused of shoplifting after spending $4,000 while shopping at Barneys.

There’s nothing illegal about spending your own money, so Mensa rightfully got upset over being accused of theft. He took to Snapchat to vent about the police’s behavior toward him.

“I’m tired of dealing with these [bleep]-ers, man,” he said in a video. “We didn’t steal [bleep].”

The videos show two cops holding Mensa and friends on a sidewalk. Mensa says that the officers didn’t know where they were accusing him of stealing from or what they were accusing him of stealing.

“You can’t be a young black man out here doing anything, legal, positive and you still get treated like a criminal,” Mensa continues, while still being detained by the officers, who are seen meandering near Mensa in the video.
