Q: Where do you live?

A: I’m from Marshfield, Wis., but I live in La Grange

Q: How long have you lived in La Grange?

A: 16 years

Q: Why did you move here?

A: A friend lived here and I was moving back from Japan and I was looking for a new place to live.

Q: What did you do in Japan?

A: I taught English for a year. I taught 27 classes a week, six days a week. One on one and up to 34 students in a class. The youngest student was three; the oldest was 65. I

Q: Was that your first time abroad?

A: I’d gone to college for a semester in Switzerland and I was like “Why didn’t I stay longer?”

Q: What did you like most about Japan?

A: Over there everything is accessible. I started playing badminton. I played volleyball and took volleyball classes. If I said I wanted to something someone would say “Oh. Go to this class.” When you’re an adult I think there are way more ways to learn things in Japan. It’s a culture of inclusiveness in that way.

Q: What do you like about your job at the library?

A: I love that I get to wear a lot of hats. My job is varied. I work with all departments and do a lot of outreach in the community.

Q: What’s your favorite book?

A: I am a huge Harry Potter fan and tis the season because there’s a new book coming out.

Q: What’s your favorite movie?

A: “When Harry Met Sally” It’s just clever, funny and cute. And I love the soundtrack.

Q: What’s your favorite color?

A: Orange. It’s bright and happy and a little intense and exciting.

Q: What is your next vacation?

A: I’m going to Scotland. I just love to travel. I’m checking countries off the list. I’ve visited 21.

Q: What’s your pet peeve?

A: When people they don’t like something even though they haven’t tried it.
