Despite being repeatedly demeaned for being the “hookup generation,” millennials aren’t having all that much sex. Good thing baby boomers have a whole wealth of things to criticize us for, right?

According to a study published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior, millennials born in the 1990s are twice as likely to abstain from sex in their early 20s as the previous generation was. Millennials born in the ’80s were a little more likely to get it on, but still not as sexually active as those born in the 1960s and ’70s.

Fifteen percent of millennials born in the 1990s had no sexual partners between the ages of 18 and 20 to 24; only six percent reported the same in the early 1990s. Millennials also reported fewer sexual partners than any group since the 1960s with an average of eight partners compared with 11 for baby boomers and 10 for Gen Xers.

No explicit reason is given for why millennials are gettin’ freaky less often, but with 147 Pokémon out there somewhere, maybe they’re more interested in catching all of those, rather than sexual partners? Too much Pokémon to get your poke on. Or maybe it’s the rise of Netflix binging that’s keeping our pants on. Who has time to get it on when there are 10 seasons of “Friends” to watch?
