The Tampa Bay Times reported that University of Miami great and NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp was bitten by a shark while grabbing for a lobster off Marathon on Wednesday.

The report ran an Instagram photo from Two Conchs Charters showing an arm with a gash in it and quoted Two Conchs captain Jack Carlson, who texted the Times: “It’s simple. He was lobstering with me and a shark bit Sapp while he was grabbing the lobster. He’s OK.”

Sapp, 43, starred at UM from 1992-94 before playing a 13-year NFL career with Tampa Bay and Oakland, getting named to the Pro Bowl seven times.
